The New JIEDA Line Features a "Tailoring-Driven Aesthetic"
Kalina Ned — July 23, 2020 — Fashion
The new JIEDA line for the Spring/Summer 2021 season is dubbed 'Entitlement' and the silhouettes explore the space between edgy grunge sensibilities and retro '90s flair. From the neckties that boast the initials 'J' and 'D' in a gothic type to the jeans that emphasize seams as a important styling detail, designer Hiroyuki Fujita paid close attention to the tailoring of the garments. The Spring/Summer 2021 JIEDA line is presented to audiences in an editorial that successfully showcases the youthful demeanor of the outfits—especially the "disparate shapes, textures, and cuts."
For the launch of the JIEDA line, the streetwear label employed Yohei Haga who directed a short film. This approach to marketing a collection has always been on the table but has surely seen a surge of popularity in recent years.
