New York City's Jell & Chill is a bingfen shop that sells refreshing, texture-rich treats in the form of delicate, drinkable desserts. Bingfen, which is traditionally sold as a summertime street food, also goes by the name ice jelly and the Chinese dessert is a treat that's comprised of a bowl of iced transparent jelly made from the seeds of the Nicandra physalodes plant with fun toppings.
Some of the options on the menu at Jell & Chill include Pina Colada and Lycheeeee Rosie, both of which are summer specials, and the vegan-friendly Chill Pill, prepared with a crystal sugar base, handcrafted bingfen, snow fungus and chewy tapioca pearls. These cooling treats promise to be as pleasing to the eye as they are to consume.
