Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas Plans Japan Cruises

Royal Caribbean is expanding spring cruising with Voyager of the Seas routes that let travelers time a Japan trip to cherry blossom season or keep going on a Pacific crossing. Running from late February through April 2028, the program mixes Tokyo roundtrips with one-way sailings as part of the ship's broader Asia Pacific season.

A 10-night Hong Kong-to-Tokyo open-jaw itinerary gives passengers a one-way option that can sit inside a bigger Asia vacation. A separate 16-night Tokyo-to-Seattle sailing turns the ship into a repositioning-style trip with northern Japan before open-ocean days.

For travelers, this means Japan is no longer just a stop inside a wider regional sailing; it can be the core reason to book the ship. The mix also makes the season easier to shop, because travelers can choose between staying within Japan-focused regional waters or turning the trip into a longer crossing home.

Seasonal Destination Cruising
Cruise itineraries anchored around short cultural windows create room for premium pricing, flexible routing, and experience-led travel products tied to natural events.
Open-jaw Cruise Itineraries
One-way sailings integrated into broader vacations expand cruise appeal by aligning ship travel with multi-city air, hotel, and land-tour planning.
Repositioning Travel Experiences
Longer ocean crossings reframed as immersive journeys can transform operational ship movements into marketable slow-travel alternatives.
