This isolated guest house functions as a separate addition to a vacation home in a wooded area of upstate New York.
The structure was designed by Studio Padron and works as both a library and a bedroom. The exterior of the cubic isolated guest house is clad in vertical stripes of black wood, giving it a modern look. The interior is just the opposite, as its floor-to-ceiling oak paneling, shelves that are integrated into the walls, bed and wood-burning stove give it a more rustic, comfortable aesthetic. The structure is cozy and perfect for the cold winter months of upstate New York.
This guest house makes the best use of design to blend modernity and comfort into a natural setting.
