The Invader Mixer Has Its Own On-Board Computing Device

The 'Invader' is an innovative new DJ mixer that is noteworthy in that it features its own embedded on-board computer.

Revealed in prototype form over at the Intel IDF keynote event by DJs Killa-Jewel and Qbert, this DJ mixer in its final version will be only two centimeters thick. It comes with eight buttons on each side that are designed to correspond to song sections programmed by a DJ. The mixer can also be customized by users to include retro-style arcade buttons which DJs of a certain vintage and age will appreciate. The mixer also offers a number of knobs, each of which offers a unique function in order to help the DJ exercise control over their set.

Ultimately, this DJ mixer attempts to shake up the way mixing is done by getting rid of the ubiquitous laptop in favor of an embedded computing system.
