Internet Slang Ads

Jaime Neely Showcases Some of the Best Internet Slang Advertisements

Identifying with younger audiences is harder than ever, and with the majority of teens on computers, Internet slang can be like a whole new language. Some companies are hesitant to engage with the younger crowd while others are taking advantage of tech-savvy consumers.

The Alphabet According to Generation Z is a set of infographics designed to help explain the confusing slang that is used by generation Z. Slangs like QT (Cutie) and Probs (Probably) are all explained in this elementary school styled graphic.

The Anit-Yolo end the madness campaign is for those who are over the idea of YOLO (you only live once). The campaign features an ad with a girl holding a positive pregnancy test and states "Nine months from now #YOLO just won't be as cool as you thought it was". The goal of the campaign is to remind people that while yes you do only live once, you shouldn't live a reckless life and be naive to reality. Consequences to your actions still exist and this campaign reminds viewers of that.

These Internet slang ads are both hilarious and thought-provoking.
