Railway-Inspired Lighting Series

Novocastrian Designs the Insulator Lighting Collection

British design studio Novocastrian designs the Insulator Lighting Collection which is created with inspiration from railways. Specifically, the infrastructure and equipment of the railways. The capsule is comprised of pendant, table lamps, and sconce lighting. All of these share the common components which are polished hardware and ribbed emblems.

Novocastrian speaks about the inspiration, stating “Our founder Richy took inspiration from endless train journeys along Britain’s East Coast mainline between Newcastle and London, by the rhythmic lattice of the overhead power lines, and by the intriguing saucer-like pin insulators which adorn them." The different pieces are made using solid brass and pressed glass that is carefully manufactured in the company's workshop. Overall, it boasts a nuanced look to the living space.
