Traditional hard drives will fail and cause data loss at high temperatures, so the Innodisk Fire Shield SSD has been developed by the company to offer consumers a way to protect themselves against this occurrence. The drive draws inspiration from the black boxes that are used in airplanes and other transportation solutions for storing essential data related to operation. The hard drive features a flame-resistant copper alloy and heat-isolating lining in the construction that will work to protect data in the event of a household fire to let consumers rest assured their information is secure.
The Innodisk Fire Shield SSD has been extensively tested by the company to ensure it can withstand extended periods of time in extreme heat. This includes being placed in direct flames at 800 degrees Celsius for over 30 minutes.
