The Jonathan LeVine Gallery is hosting the 'IKON' series designed by Austrian artist Nychos. The street artist has produced a collection of artworks that delve into the skeletal and internal structure of cartoon-like characters. IKON blends the beautiful with the grotesque and is mesmerizing.
The series contains dissection illustrations as well as translucent, x-ray versions of some of the characters. Its artist pays close attention to detail for the bones, circulatory system and organs in every drawing. Characters featured in the exhibit include the Statue of Liberty, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Darth Vader and Mickey Mouse.
Some of Nychos' pieces are meant as a social commentary, such as the rubber ducky dissolving into polluted water. Art and pop culture lovers alike will be captivated by the unique style of the IKON series.
