Piet Hein Eek, a Dutch designer, collaborated with the celebrated Swedish furniture brand for a new IKEA collection that values natural fibers and traditional crafting methods.

The challange for Piet Hein Eek was to create a line of homeware accessories and furniture that made use of the Indonesian and Vietnamese pieces that inspired the series, while also making it viable for mass-production purposes. The IKEA collection is titled 'Jassa' and makes use of intricate designs that pay tribute to tradition while making use of bent and woven bamboo for baskets, chairs and lamps and richly colored textiles.

As the collaboration between Piet Hein Eek and IKEA is ongoing, consumers can expect to see more pieces emerge with the same high-quality structure and affordable prices.
