IKEA Unveils the Nytillverkad Collection Nodding to its Past

IKEA brings back some classic looks through the new Nytillverkad collection that honors its own design heritage. The vivid looks celebrate the late 70s and early 80s through fun looks that are defined by bright tones of black, orange, pink, and white. It is meant to celebrate self-expression through bright accessories and furniture to make bold statements in a living space.

Karin Gustavsson, the range identity leader of IKEA Sweden shares with Design TAXI that “I wanted the products to stand on their own, like sculptures that stand out in any room." The original designer notes “If the design is good and the next generation still [finds] it trendy, then we have succeeded. I think we have succeeded with this chair. And I’m very proud, 40 years later."
