Living in small apartments in large cities leaves little room to store your bicycle comfortably in the safety of your own apartment, but with the Floaterheist horizontal bike storage hoist, all that has changed. This is the world's first ceiling-mounted bike storage and the concept was born out of the frustration of space use inefficiency. Development was by Andrew Mountain followed by a round of industrial design by Kevin Kimberley of DesignUp Inc. According to the designers, "The Floaterhoist works with small and large bicycles, small and large frame tubing diameters, both solid wood joist and concrete ceilings, and any common joist spacing up to 600 mm (24")."
Consumers will find solace in such a system, especially when living in major capitals where bike theft is rampant. Parking bikes outside feels extremely risky but bringing it indoors is just too much of an inconvenience. With this horizontal bike storage hoist, bike users have a neat and viable option for their fixie bikes.
