Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially announced the release of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, set to launch on October 31, 2024. This remastered edition will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PC, offering significant enhancements over the original game. Key improvements include over 10 hours of re-recorded dialogue, upgraded character models, and enhanced visual fidelity to match the standards of its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West. The remaster also integrates The Frozen Wilds expansion, providing additional content such as new lands, skills, weapons, and machines.
In addition to visual and content upgrades, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will feature advanced audio enhancements, including support for PlayStation 5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech and Atmos rendering for a more immersive sound experience. The game will also leverage the PS5’s DualSense controller capabilities, incorporating haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to enhance gameplay immersion. Existing owners of the original game can upgrade to the remastered version for a nominal fee, ensuring that both new and returning players can experience Aloy’s journey with the latest technological advancements. The remastered version of the game will retail for $9.99 for existing owners of Horizon: Zero Dawn on PS4, while PC players will receive the remastered update for free.
