Valentine's Movie Marketing

HMV's First TV Spot is All About Romance

HMV is launching its first ever TV spot, and the media company is doing so just in time for February 14th, in hope of pushing movie sales. It will be the HMV's biggest Valentines campaign to date.

In the video campaign, they accompany the theme music from Romeo + Juliet with clips of love scenes from some of the all time cheesiest romance movies including Ghost, Titanic, Casablanca and Dirty Dancing, Pride & Prejudice as well as scenes from TV shows like Sex and the City. Following the montage is the tagline, "The films you love for the one you love."

"Valentine's Day is, clearly, becoming an increasingly important gifting event within the trading calendar which is reflected in the fact that this is our largest ever campaign," said Graham Sim, marketing director at HMV.
