Although consumers can already tour Anne Frank's famous hideaway in virtual reality, soon they will be able to relive her entire harrowing tale with Jonah Hirsch's historical VR experience. Although the project is still in the early stages, it could prove to be a valuable educational tool for a new generation.
Hirsch's historical VR experience is titled 'Anne' and it will tell Frank's terrifying tale of hiding from the Nazis for two years during World War Two. The experience will involve a 360 video that allows users to see what it was really like for Frank to hide out in a secret annex with her family. The experience is also expected to recreate some of the iconic scenes from Frank's diary, thereby bringing one of the most famous Holocaust stories to life in an immersive way.
The hope is that by using VR technology to recreate Frank's experience, viewers will have a better understanding of the pivotal moment in history.
