Last year, the Henn na Hotel, in Sasebo, Japan made headlines as the first of its kind as a hotel that's run completely by artificial robots. As of 2017, the "Strange Hotel," as it it named in Japanese, will be expanding with a new location in the Tokyo Disney Resort.
At the 100-room hotel, guests will be automatically assigned a room by a multi-lingual robot, which helps to keep down the number of human staff who are required behind the scenes. As well as being an attraction themselves, the robot staff at Henn na Hotel actually play a part in keeping the costs of labor low.
After being checked in, guests will have their bags carried to their room by a porter robot and once entered into the facial recognition system, guests no longer have to worry about carrying a secure room card for entry.
