No matter what technology or innovative technique is involved, a heart-warming commercial has always the potential to capture consumer attention — if done right. From the looks of it, Nike was successful.
To celebrate Chinese New Year, the sportswear giant launched an ad that pulled at the heartstrings. The commercial was a minute long and it is centered around the Chinese custom of passing around red envelopes during the holidays. It depicts a small girl who is handed an envelope by her aunt but she doesn't accept it because her mother had told her it was rude to do so. To avoid it, she runs away. It isn't until she is a married woman that the girl accepts the packet, but when she tries to return the favor, the aunt runs away in her own Nikes.
