This healthy pancake recipe is for those who still want to partake in the traditional Fat Tuesday pancake dinner, but don't want to totally indulge and would rather stick to their healthy diet. From food blog Chocolate Log Blog, the Spiced Kefir Pancakes with Manuka Honey and Creme Fraiche Chocolate Sauce include no sugar. The recipe also uses kefir (a fermented milk beverage).
The healthy pancake recipe doesn't include any sugar as the chocolate sauce is sweetened using Manuka honey, which includes Peruvian super food maca powder. So the only sugar is that in the dark chocolate. The mix contains wholemeal spelt and buckwheat, which also aids with digestion. The banana-topped pancakes were also fried in grapeseed oil instead of butter.
