The street meat classic is getting an update with a new Hawaiian pizza-inspired twist. Traditional toppings like ketchup, mustard and onions are great, but this new recipe can help repurpose household ingredients, while creating a new hotdog experience.
This recipe is simple and can be made with a few things that are probably already stored in your cupboard. The DIY starts with spiraling your hotdog, which allows for faster cooking time, and it looks way better! It may seem complicated, but all you need is a wooden skewer pierced through the length of the hotdog. Simply cut slits to the center, without touching the other end.
Once spiraled and cooked, little crevices, nooks and crannies are perfect spots for a variety of toppings. This Hawaiian version tops the hotdog with sweet pineapples, barbecue sauce and bacon bits. Don't forget to top with cheese.
Within minutes, the ordinary hotdog is transformed into your favorite pizza flavor!
