Art and design duo the Haas Brothers debuts curious collection for the Frieze Art Fair in London. The range consists of otherworldly objects that challenge the notions of form. The result is a series of sculptures with "tentacles [and] fur-like outgrowths." Moreover, the surfaces are richly textured, vibrant and intense, engaging the public on a multitude of sensory values.
The Haas Brothers attempted to draw a connection between the technique of building up the porcelain with thousands of brushstrokes and the natural tendency of stony corals or tree fungi to gradually grow. The process is incredibly intricate and novel, making for a unique product.
The debut of the alien-like objects is part of the first solo exhibition by the Haas Brothers in London.
