At the CEATEC Japan 2017 technology expo, Bandai showed off its Gundam Concierge Haro robot to attendees, which is based off of the Gundam Haro character that appears in the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam.

The spherical robot—about the same size as a basketball—boasts artificial intelligence, a speaker and Bluetooth capabilities, meaning it is capable of interacting with various mobile devices. The smart bot was developed by Bandai in partnership with IBM Japan and VAIO.

For the tech expo, Gundam Concierge Haro was capable of fielding questions on the Gundam series and expressed itself with different emotions, each of which was tied to a differently colored lights that helped to bring the bot to life.
