"The Guild", an amazing web series created by Felicia Day, has started production on their guild reunion anniversary movie, "The Guild: Ren Faire'd", to celebrate the web series' 20th anniversary. The original web series was based around a character named Codex (Felicia Day), who is urged by her therapist to get out, and meet real people instead of playing online games all day. Seeing a possible work around to this advice, Codex convinces her local online gaming guild to meet in real life, and that is when all of the chaos starts to happen.
To help fund the making of this movie, Felicia turned to KickStarter to appeal to the massive fanbase for "The Guild". The whole KickStarter project came about after studio executives approached Felicia about doing a "The Guild" anniversary movie, but wanted to re-cast the entire project with younger actors - something that greatly troubled Felicia Day considering that she was the creator of "The Guild". Greatly wanting to film the guild reunion anniversary movie using the original actors, Felicia quickly took to the internet, and has been successfully able to raise over 5 million dollars through donations alone (the original goal was 1.5 million). "The Guild: Ren Faire'd" is slated to be released in 2027.
