Oakley's "Green Fade Collection" is an ode to the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games. Every pair of sunglasses in the collection is hand-painted in a bright green color-- the most prominent color on the Brazilian flag. The eyewear is distinctly athletic in aesthetic and the majority of the lenses have an iridescent 'PRIZM' finish to it.

The Olympics is a great event for brands to tie themselves to. Every four years, services and products are introduced to the market specifically tailored for the Olympic games. The specialized products are a perfect way for consumers to show patriotism and feel like they're a part of history. It's even more profitable for companies if they can get their products on Olympian athletes for the whole world to see.

Oakley is doing exactly that with its Green Fade collection. The eyewear will be donned by Oakley-sponsored athletes at the Olympics giving the company global exposure, which will help to boost sales.
