From grass terraces to black porcelain walls, this building by Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos is truly visually striking. The structure is located on a hillside in Mexico City and features five units across four levels. Naturally, given the positioning and the topography of the site, the architectural development proved to be a tricky one.
Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos focused on producing a living space that embraces vegetation and “extraordinary panoramic views.” This is definitely where the triangle-shaped grass terrace come into play. They not only provide the functional possibility for residents to experience the breathtaking surroundings from the comfort of their own home but also add a strong aesthetic embellishment that will make the ‘Alcázar de Toledo’ living complex a curious addition to the architectural narrative of Mexico City.
