Google recently opened the doors to its first physical retail space and the Google Store NYC's design by architecture studio Reddymade incorporates sustainable elements. The Google Store within the former Port Authority Building provides large windows that provide a look inside the space, which is welcoming thanks to the use of warm wood and lighting. Deliberately, the design team choose highly tactile materials like wood and cork to create an inviting atmosphere to put people at ease.
Within the space, visitors can explore areas like the Imagination Space for interacting with Google products and technology with a series of screens. There's also a help desk area with casual seating and discovery boxes that sit in the windows for augmented reality interactions from the street.
