It is being reported that a service is currently being developed that will let users receive and pay their bills directly from their Gmail accounts; it's being dubbed Google Pony Express. Although that might be an internal code name, it's one many people will be getting familiar with. It's said to be "the future of paper mail," something many have been looking forward to for some time.

Easy to use, people will need to provide personal information including a full social security number. This will be handled by a third party. From there, Google Pony Express allows people to pay their bills via images of their credit or debit card as well as by linking their Gmail account to banking accounts.
