Google is Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Play Store

Google is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Google Play store with a newly redesigned logo. The new logo is altered from the original play button-shaped colorful triangle in two main ways. Firstly, the colors have been dulled on the new logo in order to better match the design of Google's other mobile applications, such as Maps and Gmail. Secondly, the play button triangle has been rounded more, resulting in less sharp edges and a more immediately identifiable logo shape.

In addition to launching this new logo, Google is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its app store by offering users 10x 'Play Points' on purchases. This is only applicable to certain countries and markets, but is an excellent way to give back to the company's fans.
