Smartphone users have a tough choice to make when it comes to routing apps with the return of Google Maps for iPhone. The mapping app was replaced with Apple Maps, which has fallen under extreme criticism for its lacking capabilities and less than comprehensive database.

The map app now tops the charts as the number one free app in the Apple App Store with many users breathing a sigh of relief with the Google app back on the legendary device. Google Maps for iPhone won’t replace Apple Maps, but does offer users another option when it comes to their mobile routing capabilities. A major feature of Google Maps that Apple Maps does not have is public transit routing abilities that can show you the bus or train route to your desired destination.
