A new Google Lens project will be able to recognize local art. The new feature is a result of a partnership with Wescover, which will show local art starting in San Francisco. Wescover is a startup that will provide the information necessary for the new Google Lens project. In the upcoming weeks, Google lens users in San Francisco will be able to use their cameras to focus on pieces of art around them, Google Lens will then present users with the relevant information.
The project will begin in San Francisco, where the startup is located. The company has indicated plans to expand the feature globally. Currently, the company has 50,000 images of art and design mapped out as well as a network of approximately 6,000 artists and brands on its site.
