Bejeweled Runway Masks

The Givenchy’s Spring Runway Show Featured Romantic Lace Masks

Pat McGrath created the unique masks that were worn by runway models during Givenchy’s Spring 2016 show. The masks were worn by each model and covered the entirety of the wearer's face.

Makeup artist Pat McGrath used material with lace, jewels and embellishments rather than using makeup at all. The mask-like veils provided a sense of romantic themes and subtly soft undertones while also adding a bizarre accessory to the show. The most interesting piece of this runway accessory is that each of the jewels, beading and piece of fabric were applied directly to each model's face using a professional adhesive.

Givenchy’s Spring 2016 show revealed the bejeweled masks as an alternative to powder, concealer and heavy eye makeup. The look allowed the models to be presented in a soft and elegant manner.
