Cooking With Celebrity Sweat

When PETA Cooks, You Get Clofu: George-Clooney Flavored Tofu

“As a mammal, I'm offended,” was actor George Clooney's response to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and their latest advance in obtaining celebrity endorsement for their cause.

What was George offended by? Evidently, PETA wants to use more than Mr. Clooney's name - they want to use his sweat! Wait, it gets better. They want to take his perspiration and make it into George Clooney–flavored tofu, or CloFu.

Implications - Consumers are fascinated with celebrities because they represent benchmarks of success in North American society. Corporations may consider offering consumers products and services which emulate a celebrity lifestyle in order to generate revenue.
