Smart Automated Home Cleaners

iRobot's 'Genius 4.0' Update Allows Siri to Command Roomba Devices

'iRobot Corporation,' the robotics company behind the popular consumer robots such as 'Roomba' and 'Braava,' has released the 'Genius 4.0' update for its automated home cleaning devices. This update enables connectivity between Apple's 'Siri' smart assistant, and the software on the Roomba and Braava devices.

With this connectivity, Apple users can simply tell Siri to activate their robotic cleaners by stating a phrase similar to "Hey Siri, tell my Roomba to clean the living room." Additionally, as part of this new smart assistant integration, users can customize different areas for their cleaning devices to monitor. For example, users can outline the parameters of their living room, kitchen, bedroom, hallway, and any other rooms in the device, then simply tell Siri to clean these rooms by name, and the robot will know which room to clean.
