HBO collaborated with experiential marketing firm Relevent and creative studio Framestore (a company largely responsible for the visual effects in the Oscar award-winning film Gravity), to create a Game of Thrones Oculus Rift experience for SXSW. It will be touring through Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, Belfast and Oslo.
The exhibit, which is titled 'Ascend the Wall,' allows fans of the show the opportunity to scale the massive ice wall. The Oculus Rift headset, headphones and physical effects, such as shaking and gale-force winds, are used to further authenticate the already-exhilarating experience.
