Lumus FOV Achieves a Wider Field of View at CES 2026
Lumus FOV is the company’s next-generation geometric waveguide optical component that was showcased at CES 2026 with a field of view exceeding 70 degrees for augmented reality (AR) eyewear. The wider field of view is designed to support more immersive AR applications compared with previous waveguides and retains full-color fidelity and high brightness while maintaining transparency.
Lumus also presented an updated Z-30 waveguide with improved brightness and a lightweight form factor intended for glanceable everyday AR tasks. Lumus’s CES 2026 display included a prototype Z-30 2.0 model that is significantly thinner and lighter than earlier versions, aiming to enable slimmer, more natural-looking AR glasses designs. Lumus has supplied geometric waveguide technology to previous consumer AR products, including those from Meta, and its latest portfolio spans a range of field-of-view options from around 30 degrees to beyond 70 degrees.
