The translator is an extension for Google Chrome was created by Ben Smith, Stephen Dalton and Harold Jones, three creatives living in the US who wanted to help make news from the games more understandable for their friends by relating the sport to American football.
The translator is quick to describe that "football" is what Westerners know as "soccer" and basically describes the World Cup as "the Super Bowl of Soccer."
