A number of companies are now exploring food printing for both practical and artful purposes. 3D Food Printing, which distributes a 3D printing kitchen appliance called the Foodini, recently demonstrated how the machine can be used to create fun and healthy snacks in imaginative shapes.
The company recently shared a demonstration of how the machine can print Sabra's hummus in the shape of a dolphin. Natural Machines, which creates the Foodini, notes that the appliance requires ingredients that are fresh and natural, and as it prints creations on-demand, it helps to cut down on food waste.
Beyond getting creative with hummus, people also have the potential to transform other kinds of dips and spreads like guacamole, cookies and much more.
