Portion-Control Gesture Charts

This Infographic Shows How to Use Your Hands for Food Measurements

Knowing how to do food measurements using your hands is a great skill to have when you don't happen to have any measuring tools handy. This infographic put together by daily recipe app KptnCook uses colorful paint and gestures to teach at home cooks how to measure portions using their hands.

The 'How To: Measure Your Perfect Portion' infographic cleverly uses color to showcase how hands can be used to estimate the ideal amount of various ingredients to use. For example, the amount of pasta you should be eating should be no larger than the size of a fist which is showcased with a hand in a fist position painted yellow. Other foods such as cheese, butter, meat and ice cream portions are also shown in a similar style.
