Australian designer Kenneth Cobonpue’s innovative use of rattan in his contemporary "croissant" outdoor furniture was inspired by his mother’s Phillipino furniture manufacturing store from the 1970’s.
Kenneth’s furniture is available from Hermon & Hermon in Melbourne and and KE-ZU in Sydney, Australia. Among his outdoor furniture range, he also stocks wall lamps, screens, chairs, beds and pendants - all inspired by organic traditional materials.
Kenneth is revered for his lighting, which is shipped to most countries in the world. My favorite is the squid-inspired "Biba Suspension Lamp" made from hand dyed Rattan vines and tied to a metal frame.
The croissant outdoor sofa will set you back AU$8,800 and the matching outdoor armchair a cool AU$31,000.
