Fitnet brands itself as an app that's able to provide a personal fitness workout—it's like being able to carry around a personal trainer in your pocket. Unlike comparable apps like the Nike+ Training Club and FitOrbit where users are able to tap into pre-precorded videos, Fitnet sets itself apart by offering coaching in real-time. From wherever you are, the app makes it possible to connect to a personal trainer, using the camera on a phone.
To motivate users to keep coming back for more live workout sessions, the app also pairs people with a Fitnet Trainer for further assistance with developing healthy plans and providing encouragement.
Looking to the future of Fitnet, CEO Bob Summers says that the next move is to replace camera analytics with data from fitness wearables like the Jawbone or Fitbit.
