An expressive jewelry collection is among the spotlighted design projects, showcased in Dezeen's latest school show. Maria Jantina Geuke is a student at ArtEZ University of the Arts and their Tree Imprints capsule is "rooted in distinct body expressions, tattoos, tree structures, and nature religions."
Maria Jantina Geuke experimented with contemporary jewelry production techniques for this project. They combined traditional craftsmanship alongside innovative resin 3D-printing techniques. In doing so, the line between modern and traditional is blurred. The designer also emphasized raw pieces of pine wood as a way to "worship the material world and as a symbol of how precarious nature is." The expressive jewelry collection is definitely unique in its inspiration and the way it can be worn by individuals. The pieces were modeled by Alicia Muñoz Meza and photographer by Dhiren Rao.
