The 'Exit Poll' App Lets Users Share Who They Voted for and Why

Perhaps one of the things that the 2016 US Presidential Election will be best remembered for is the role that social media played in it, and Exit Poll is an app that harnesses that social media to help voters get a better idea of their fellow citizens' decisions.

In terms of infrastructure, Exit Poll is straightforward. After downloading the app (and voting, of course,) users go through a three-step process. First, they select the candidate they voted for; second, they indicate which state they voted in; finally, they get the opportunity to record a video. In these videos, users are meant to give a short blurb about why they chose the candidate they did.

Exit Poll will then take these videos and automatically collate them, streaming them on a Facebook page during election night.
