Public Design Biennial

Exhibit Columbus 2025 Celebrates Community-Driven Design in Indiana

Exhibit Columbus 2025 celebrates community-driven design in Indiana through a cycle of installations and events under the theme Yes And. Scheduled to open on August 15 and 16, the biennial features thirteen site-specific works created with designers, artists, and local partners. These installations will activate civic spaces across Columbus, engaging with the city’s modernist legacy while inviting fresh interpretations of public life and design. The theme encourages openness, collaboration, and improvisation as guiding principles for creative practice.

The program began with Design Presentations in February, where recipients of the J. Irwin and Xenia S. Miller Prize and university fellows shared proposals for public feedback. Designers include Adaptive Operations, AD-WO, Studio Barnes, and Studio Cooke John, among others. Exhibit Columbus, organized by the Landmark Columbus Foundation, positions design as both cultural dialogue and civic engagement, reaffirming Indiana’s role as a place where experimentation and community intersect.
