In the wake of COVID-19, Guelph startup EnvisionSQ has pivoted its technology in order to combat the pandemic. The brand's traditional anti-smog traffic barrier technology that cleans air pollutants indoors and out has been transformed into a self-sterilizing coating. The NanoClean coating is able to kill bacteria on contact (with more than a 99.99% effectiveness rate) on anything ranging from a kitchen table to swing sets with a shelf-life of one year.
In addition, when the NanoClean coating is exposed to light, "a special photocatalytic ingredient provides an extra boost of germ-killing action." This makes it ideal to use at high-traffic outdoor areas to help surfaces remain safe for weeks or more after it's been applied.
