This Elle Canada March 2014 fashion shoot takes one garment construction element and runs with it to make a surprising style store.
Photographer Jean-Claude Lussier snaps up this fresh fashion capture. Model Elyse Saunders sports short yellow hair and icy pink lipstick that makes her look like a doll. The background behind her is made to look like the sky, with a bold blue and the occasional mist of white clouds. As Saunders jumps for her poses, the camera is positioned below to look up at her, making her look like she is flying off into the air.
The artful positioning of pleats seems to be the main focus of this exuberant Elle Canada March 2014 editorial. Pleating was used on skirts, garment details and even whole outfits. Being scrunched up but then able to fold out is what makes pleating so much like a bird's wing, and why all the elements of this style story work together.
