Dubbed the 'EasyAvo' this new take on the avocado aims to end the excessive injuries caused when trying to de-stone this beloved fruit. Developed in South Africa by Westfalia Fruit, the 'EasyAvo' was created naturally using hybrid growth procedures. The result is an avocado with “a thicker and corkier consistency to its skin,” which is meant to better protect a person's hand as they remove the pit from the fruit.
Commonly described as avocado hand this brutal injury usually occurs when removing the pit from an avocado and ending up with a nasty knife wound in the hand. The 'EasyAvo' hopes to remedy this issue and has already debuted at Tesco in the UK. The 'EasyAvo' is not yet available outside of Britain, but its only a matter of time before the millennial mascot gets an upgrade in North America.
