EASTERN design office's Keyhole house in Kyoto is modernly designed through a very simple and unique architectural idea, which is that of a keyhole.

The designer explains the keyhole concept as follows "A key to open 'my house', which is standing along a narrow street of a crowded town, is designed as a key itself on the façade of this house. A house can be called a key, which will open up your life happily."

This house is designed to perfectly suit a family of four people and two cats, with high wooden walk paths for the furry members. The steel thin eave floating on top of the door acts as an unconventional window that looks simple, original and absolutely gorgeous in the dark with lights on. The simple frame also symbolizes the keyhole itself.
