Sun-Drenched Desert Photography

There is a majesty to the photo series title Dunescape by Shawn van Eeden, a photographer and art director based in Windhoek, Namibia, that is hard to beat. The way the sun plays against the nooks and crannies of the rolling hills of golden sand is completely captivating. The Namibian photographer succinctly explains the series, "This is a collection of images where I have tried to capture the play of light on the dunes of the Namib Desert."

Full of romantic warmth, it is hard to believe that the landscape featured in Dunescape by Shawn van Eeden can be as deathly as it can be dreamy. While the heat of the sun and sand lends a stunning glow to van Eeden's photoshoot, it can be very harsh on humans.
