The SeaDrone applies airborne drone technology to the sea by functioning as an underwater drone.
Controlled by a tablet app, the SeaDrone is automated and can capture 360-degree images of its surroundings. One of the applications of this SeaDrone is for "sea-based farming," since this requires "frequent dives." The underwater drone will have the capacity to inspect the various technologies associated with sea farming -- a function normally carried about by large underwater vehicles or divers themselves. The SeaDrone prevents the need for a specialist to take part in this process reducing costs and perhaps even time. With information collected on the app, data will also be stored, which will reduce or eliminate the need for note-taking for regulatory agencies.
The underwater drone is affordable as well as small and light, making it portable and therefore more efficient.
