American fashion label Jason Wu has teamed up with digital-only fashion brand DressX to launch a new wearable NFT called 'The Dream.' The new digital-only piece is a direct replica of First Lady Michelle Obama’s 2009 Inaugural Ball gown, which was designed by Wu.
The owner of this one-off replica will be able to wear the gown digitally on various metaverse platforms. In addition, after purchasing the gown, they will receive two tickets to Jason Wu's in-person show at New York Fashion Week, which is set to take place this September.
“Fashion is always evolving and changing and as a fashion designer, I evolve with it,” said Wu in a recent interview, referencing the new NFT, which arrives as a first for the legendary designer.
