The Dominican Republic is now the home to a high-tech 33.4 megawatt photovoltaic solar array. Set up at the Monte Plata solar facility, this solar array is the largest in the Caribbean region by far. While its capacity is already impressive, it is set to be more than doubled up 67 megawatts.
Developed as part of a collaboration between the Phanes Group, General Energy SOlutions and Soventix, the solar array facility currently consists of 132,000 solar panels, a figure that triples the total number of solar panels in the Dominican Republic.
Ultimately, this solar array project is a true trailblazer and bodes very well for the future of eco-friendly energy solutions in the Caribbean region.
